Do wearable apps need to be certified on submission deadline?

If my solution includes a wearable app that needs certification (i.e. samsung gear app), do you require the app to be certified by Samsung on September 9? Or will you accept submissions still under certificacion process?

    Thanks for writing. Did you mean to ask about the Samsung Gear App challenge or the Connected Intersections challenge? September 9th is the submission deadline for the Connected Intersections challenge on this page. If you have a Gear App question, please email support@challengepost.com.

    Yes, I mean the Connected Intersections challenge and its deadline on September 9th.

    But the correct question would be as follows:

    If my application for this contest is a Samsung Gear App, will you require the app to be available on Samsung Apps for download and test? Or is it enough to submit my working app directly to you, without making it available to the public?

    Hi mramosr85,

    Thanks for the response! Submissions are not required to be publicly available so the app does not need to be on the app store, however, you must provide us access for testing:

    Per the rules: "(v) Testing: The Maker must make the Application available free of charge and without any restriction, for testing, evaluation and use by the Poster, Administrator and judges during the Challenge and until the Judging Period ends. If the Application includes software that runs on proprietary or third party hardware that is not widely available to the public, including software running on devices or wearable technology other than smartphones, tablets, or desktop computers, the Sponsor and/or Administrator reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to require the Maker to provide physical access to the Application hardware upon request. "

    Before the deadline, verify that will be able to add an app to a testing device if it is not in the store. Additionally, include detailed testing instructions on your submission form.
